BESPOKE DESIGNS
Bevan Funnell has a long tradition of offering a bespoke service to its customers.
Working in partnership we can create from new or adapt any piece of furniture from our current or previous collections, and will undertake to create a truly unique piece of furniture based on your specification and requirements.
Previous projects range from libraries and board room tables to much smaller projects such as bespoke desks, office furniture and children's storage facilities.

TECHNIQUES AND CRAFTSMANSHIP
Bevan Funnell has continually incorporated new technologies into the manufacturing of our furniture and we are proud to combine modern production techniques with traditional craftsmanship.
We consider this an ongoing learning process.
Whilst we have incorporated modern manufacturing techniques throughout our history, we continue to employ traditional skills, such as skivering, in the making of your furniture.
Our craftsmen combine modern production technology with traditional skills to accentuate the fine figuring and warmth of colour in the magnificent timber used.
Fine detailing, such as skivering is carried out in the traditional manner, by hand. Skivers are carefully positioned and fixed into the recessed surface with embossed and gilded decorative borders added and then lacquered.
Combining different colours and dyes and using a dozen different processes, trained craftsman working by hand create Bevan Funnell's renowned finish. The extra ‘body' and depth of colour is acquired with the application of lacquer and hand finishing. The waxing and burnishing technique provide the perfect finish.
THE PROCESS
Our bespoke service begins with a discussion to explore your ideas, needs and requirements and to establish timescales and budget. For larger projects we may recommend an on-site consultation. The project brief resulting from the discussion or consultation will be agreed and our in-house design team will then translate the brief into working drawings and specifications. These drawings and specifications, along with any relevant samples and the written quotation, will be sent to you for your consideration and approval.
When the brief has been approved these drawings will be turned into fully developed manufacturing plans and the raw materials required will be sourced. Using a combination of modern technology and traditional techniques your bespoke handcrafted furniture will be created. Once completed it can be delivered and if required, installed anywhere in the world.
